Summary: We stayed for two weeks in April/May 2016 at the gite. The location is very quiet and spacious , ideal for our young children. Although rural the location is a relaxed 15 min drive to the main commercial centre at Brive la gaillard. The Correze area is not tourist orientated so you feel more like a resident than tourist, although the Dordogne attractions are very close. The property has all you need for a comfortable stay , basic but modern and functional, however the feel is of a century old traditional cottage. The outside area with open cooking and sheltered seating make meals a big part of any day. We drove from Belfast to Cork and took the overnight ferry to Roscoff. The journey from Roscoff is 9 hours but worth it. The owner Sylvie has the rare ability to be welcomng , accomodating but discreet enough to realise you are on holiday and give you space.The gite is one of two, the other has a permanent resident who you would not know was there but friendly and able to help if required. Although Sylvie and I had to converse in a mix of French/English we managed to get the perfect balance of holiday. If you don't speak any French I would suggest simply booking through the website.
