Summary: Great dining experience, and magical location, in a medieval village perched on a hill, inside a ruined fortress and at the foot of a towering dungeon. A bit challenging to park — don’t bring a large car.

Summary: What a beautifully situated hotel. Only 5-6 parking spaces at the hotel , but @35 spaces in public car park 150m away. Our room was lovely with a splendid view and the room , toilet and bathroom were spotless. The restaurant is on a beautiful terrace , very smart service. The food was beautifully presented and intricate ( Pork Poitrine and Vegetarian Ravioli ) , but small portions - our starter Salmon Tartare was minuscule !! The Wine list was amazing. We had a wonderful coffee on the terrace overlooking the valley afterwards with scrumptious Petit Fours - but we were hungry after the meal , so a slight shame considering the restaurants beautiful situation , very attentive service, great presentation etc.

Summary: Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. We had one of the basic rooms which was clean and a good size and even had a nice view. The room decor was OK but nothing exceptional. You don't want to spend time in your room anyway because the upper terrace is amazing to have a drink and take in the view. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent.

Summary: Lovely setting for a quiet and relaxing holiday in a castle village steeped in history - the restaurant is a hidden gem and has a great reputation locally.
There are very few guest facilities apart from the room and restaurant during the spring season - it gets busier in the summer months.
