Come and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing holiday at La Pendolera, a beautiful and cozy holiday villa with a pool near Comares, perhaps the most charming village in the Axarquia, declared 'Pueblo Magico' of Spain. The new owners, Karin and Ralf, have enhanced this well-known and popular vacation home even further with more spacious beds, new furniture, modern accents, and a completely new kitchen setup.
La Pendolera features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one en-suite with a spacious walk-in shower and the other with a bath/shower combo), a spacious living room with comfortable sofas, a fireplace, and a smart TV.
Guests have access to a washing machine, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. All windows have screens and shutters, and air conditioning operates on a 'pay-as-you-use' basis.
You can cook in a beautiful open American kitchen with a large dining table and chairs, fully equipped with an electric stove, oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer combo, extractor hood, dishwasher, and all necessary amenities.
However, the favorite spot for most guests is the outdoor area with a fenced pool and a covered terrace with a BBQ. The mild climate and the terrace allow you to enjoy the outdoors practically all year round. There are outdoor furniture, sun loungers, and parasols. The entire house is enclosed, making it child- and pet-friendly, with outdoor lighting.
There is a lockable parking space for 2 cars, and pets can be allowed after consultation.
La Pendolera is exceptionally well located in Alqueria, just 1.5 km from Comares, offering not only a beautiful setting but also a microclimate. Due to its unique location against the mountainside with a view towards the sea, temperatures are exceptionally mild even in winter, as evidenced by the many tropical fruits that grow here. This is why many winter visitors choose to stay here for a few months.
Apart from the stunning natural surroundings, you can enjoy beautiful walks, even in the immediate vicinity of the house. Comares, also known as the 'Pearl of Axarquia,' is a typical whitewashed Andalusian village steeped in history and Moorish influence. The residents are incredibly friendly and enjoy meeting foreigners. On the gastronomic front, you won't miss out – indulge in Andalusian specialties and hospitality in one of the bars and restaurants.
If you prefer to cook for yourself, no problem. In Comares, you'll find a village supermarket, a bakery (offering wood oven-baked bread), and the option to have meat, fish, bread, and vegetables delivered to La Pendolera if you wish. The village also has a pharmacy, banks, and an ATM, with a doctor present almost every morning.
For active guests, Comares has a lot to offer, including hiking, mountain biking, cycling, and even rock climbing. The largest zip line in Spain, with several via ferratas and the opportunity to slide across long cables to the opposite mountain, is just outside the village. There's a FREE PADEL COURT in the village. The view from the village square, situated at 730 meters above sea level, is truly breathtaking, overlooking the expansive Sierra Tejeda and the Mediterranean Sea.
La Pendolera is the ideal base for day trips to Malaga, Granada (Alhambra), Cordoba (Mezquita), Ronda, or the famous Caminito del Rey in Ardales. The award-winning beach of Torre del Mar is only 30 km away, where you can enjoy fresh fish in one of the beach restaurants and then relax by the water. A half-hour drive takes you to the commercial center of Velez-Malaga, with supermarkets and a shopping mall.
