Positive: The location was the highlight. It isn’t beachfront as mentioned in the description but this is obvious from the photos. It’s a short walk to the beach, restaurants, shops & bars. Plus the old town could be reached in a 15 minute walk. The terrace was lovely to sit out on. We also enjoyed the pool although the sun loungers looked old & were not particularly comfortable.

Negative: We picked this property based on the location & the described 3 bathrooms with showers. There are only 2 bathrooms with showers and 1 separate toilet so the description is misleading. This didn’t spoil our trip but it was a big deal to us. Another inaccurate description was that there are 3 rooms with double beds when in reality the one with a ‘large double’ is 2 singles pushed together. The A/C was limited to 2 hours in the living room & one upper floor bedroom. It didn’t matter in the living room but it made one of the bedrooms uncomfortable at night despite using fans. The 2 lower floor bedrooms had no A/C but it was possible to keep reasonably cool by leaving the shutters closed the whole time & using fans. When we booked the check in time was 4pm which later changed to 5pm. We paid 50 euros to check in early despite the property being empty for a few days before us. This fee was for an express cleaning service which seemed fair, but the standard of cleaning was low. We found long dark hair in most of the rooms & terraces. There were ants in the kitchen on arrival which we know can happen but at least providing some spray to use would have been helpful. Some of the bedroom curtains were lightweight and towels were thin & low quality. The host Ana & her colleague Camila were attentive & did their best to resolve the issue with the A/C. Communication via WhatsApp prior to the trip and during was excellent. We appreciated the offer of an extra cleaning service free of charge. We declined this as we just wanted to get on with the holiday without being disturbed. We simply want improvements to be made for future guests. We hope to return to Nerja & have found other properties in the area that will suit us better.
