Positive: It’s in a pleasant, quiet location in a lovely area, close to restaurants and Port d’Alcudia and the historic town of Alcúdia. Communication with property management was good.

Negative: It’s a pokey, small apartment with a weird layout in a sort of basement location with a tiny kitchen and, worst of all, it appears to have a problem with damp because there was a strong and pervasive smell of damp throughout the apartment. We opened one cupboard at one end of the apartment and the strong smell of damp and appearance of mould meant that we didn’t open it again. We had to buy a scented candle and a can of air freshener to try and combat the smell. We told the property management, who suggested the smell was from recent painting and kindly offered to reimburse us for the candle and air freshener. The smell of damp is completely different from the smell of painting, so we weren’t impressed with that disingenuous explanation. My wife had a serious problem with damp and mould at her workplace and she was quite traumatized by this problem plaguing this apartment. Although the property managers were nice and responsive, we need to warn anyone thinking of booking this apartment that it could be unpleasant for you, especially if you have had the same problem where you live or work. In Sydney, where we’re from, water ingress in apartments and health problems from the resulting damp and mould has become a big issue for people living in apartment blocks. It can cause serious respiratory health issues, so it should not be downplayed or minimized in this case. Sorry to be negative in this review, but it’s best to be honest. The apartment is otherwise OK for short stays.
